Realism

Realism and how it relates to my town hall model. With my model I wanted to explore how people flow through the station in accordance to getting from platform to platform and using the stairs. I find the different way people use the stairs within a station at different periods of time interesting. I believe this focus would make me focus on the stairs and escalators being real. The concept I would like explore with my model is the concept of What happens when stairs can't get as easily or at all from point A to point B?
How I would express this in the model would be to insert installations at the head of the stairs or on the stairs. What questions I hope to answer by stimulation as of now would be:
1) What happens to crowd movement if there is a row of people standing at the top of the stairs blocking all but one persons way?
2) What happens if the ticket barriers were placed on the stairs instead of on the concourse?
3) What happens if the stairs were still there but were missing half of the walkway in different patterns all the way up (or down) them?
4) What happens if instead of having an escalator going all the way down to platform 4,5 and 6 you have to take it down to 1,2 and 3 and then switch to another escalator?
